Renovation of swimming pools with fibreglass or marblite

It is amazing what a bit of tender love and care can do to an old pool....

Though we do marblite pools, we favour fibreglass linings. Fibreglass is smooth and therefore algae can not anchor roots into it as the case is with marblite pools. Even if things went wrong while you were on a long vacation or if tenants neglected your pool, most of the algae on the walls will be removed from the sides with a simple brush.

There is always a calcium exchange between the marblite and the water. You will get scaling/ stains on the walls if you have too much calcium in the water and if the calcium in the water is not enough, calcium could be drawn from the marblite, resulting in small holes where algae can anchor it's roots. This is one of the reasons why a fibreglass liner is easier to maintain.
